Hello + Welcome!!
My name is Julie and I am the creator behind Stones + Glass Designs! Welcome to my little corner of the internet where I will share with you my many passions - including photography, wellness and creativity in all forms. That is me with three of my favourite people in the world. They are the reasons I get out of bed each day and work hard to share my creativity with the world.
For years, I have tried to keep all of my passions separate and have managed many separate pages and websites. I have always thought that I “should” pick one thing and really go for it (or that if I dedicated my time to just one area, I’d really excel), but you know what? That is just not me!! I love many things and I want to do and share all of them! And I don’t want them to be separate, because really, everything I do is intertwined in one way or another. I have found that creativity, sharing and being around like-minded individuals fills my heart (and my days) in a way that makes me excited to get up each morning and get to work!!
How did Stones + Glass Designs come to be?
I chose the name Stones + Glass Designs because I have always felt a great connection to the earth and love working with gemstones & crystals - making jewelry and in my meditative practice, hence the ‘stones’.
Glass can refer to many things, but when I was trying to decide how to consolidate my many passions, I wanted another way to incorporate my love of photography and lenses can be referred to as ‘glass’. After reflecting on the name, it grew in meaning for me as I am working hard to choose love over fear (in my life in general) and feel that my fear often shows up as judgement. And we know what they say about stones and glass houses..... It reminds me to see the good and be the good and remember that we are all fighting battles that others may know nothing about. 💜
